MEDICAL STAFF SPECIALIST I
Medical Staff Activities
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., M-F
Supports Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities.
Assists Director, Medical Staff Services to carry out the duties of the Medical Staff Services department; to provide initial/reappointment/update credentialing functions; to provide support and documentation of Medical Staff Services activities, enabling the Medical Staff to fulfill their duties and obligations in accordance with Bylaws/Policies/Procedures; to meet requirements of regulatory agencies and comply with confidentiality policies.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: High school diploma with training in office and computer skills.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years office experience. Medical terminology course a plus.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: N/A
Other Minimum Qualifications: Very detail/results oriented. Computer proficient. Ability to problem solve. Team player. Interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills. On-job-training in JCAHO, NCQA, Bylaws and Related Manuals, credentialing guidelines and regulatory agency requirements.
