Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced senior analyst to serve as an Analytic Consultant supporting the Community Banking Review Standards (CBRS) team. This position will report to the CBRS Data Analytic Manager. The primary responsibilities of this senior-level analyst will be preparing in-depth analysis of regulatory and operational risk data, providing the CBRS team with superior methods to view and interrogate analytical results, making process improvement recommendations and partnering with other Community Banking functional areas to satisfy requests for information.

The Community Banking Review Standards (CBRS) team is part of Community Banking Risk Management (CBRM) and conducts review activities (monitoring and testing) across all lines of business within Community Banking and across a broad spectrum of risks, including consumer protection, Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering, regulations, operational risk and internal policies. CBRS assists Community Banking lines of business and partners accomplish their objectives as risk and control owners by providing testing and monitoring services to these businesses.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform very complex analysis design involving data mining very large data sources, regulatory and operational data analysis, time-series analysis, risk modeling and comparative analysis.

  • Interpret and present the results of analyses in a clear and meaningful manner.

  • Consult with Community Banking Review Standards team leaders and key team members to understand the need, determine best methodology and data availability, perform analysis and gain user acceptance of results.

  • Lead activities to deliver data and analyses to the Community Banking Review Standards team.

  • Prepare recommendations and business cases for advanced data visualization and analytical methods including data modeling.

  • Involvement in the technical build-out and/or support of databases, query tools, reporting tools, BI tools and dashboards that enable analysis and data visualization.

  • Lead projects/virtual teams and mentor junior staff.

Location: Charlotte, NC; Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; Littleton, CO; Phoenix, AZ; San Francisco, CA; San Antonio, TX. Will consider other locations within the Wells Fargo footprint for qualified candidates.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of data organizing or structuring complex data across varied data sources

  • Ability to research, trend, and analyze data

  • Ability to summarize and recommend new strategies/solutions

  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding the financial services industry

  • Teradata experience

  • MS SQL server experience

  • Oracle experience

  • VB (Visual Basic) experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) skills

  • Community banking experience
