Responsibilities

In this newly created position, the Media Technology Engineer will be responsible for media operations and post production systems supporting this NBCUniversal operation in Dry Creek, CO. The successful candidate will be tasked with supporting and commissioning systems including central SAN/NAS storage, transcode systems, network, archive/LTO systems, and file acceleration systems.

• Maintaining a high degree of personal expertise in Storage, Transcoding and File Analysis & Delivery Acceleration System

• Providing level 2 support to internal teams who are tasked with maintaining these systems including 24x7 on-call support

• Providing training and documentation of systems and support procedures to be utilized by the larger engineering and operations teams at the facility

• Leading investigations of issues within Media Operations and Post Production Systems and their integration points to identify systematic issues and root causes

• Leading follow up with vendors to resolve system issues and drive future development

• Managing the testing and deployment of software patches and upgrades in the production environment

• Working with Engineering and Operations partners to develop strategy for system enhancements and growth

• Managing implementation and configuration of additions to Media Operations systems

• Reporting current status of systems and on-going project

Qualifications/Requirements

BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

•1+ years experience in block level storage and file level storage

•1+ years experience in Aspera/Signiant transfer technologies

•1+ years experience Deep technical knowledge in Storage technologies like; Fibre Channel, FCoE, iSCSI, CiFS, NFS, Flash, RAID, LTO

•1+ years experience in Stornext or other high-performance shared storage filesystem

•1+ years experience with EMC Isilon

•1+ years experience with Transcoding and digital media technology

•1+ years experience with Window/Linux Server build, configuration and administration

•1+ years experience as hands-on engineer in Production and/or Broadcast environment

•1+ Experience in MAC O/S and Final Cut system setup and support

•1+ years in project management. With proven track record of managing within timeline and budget

•Strong understanding of user and system support, infrastructure devices, video/audio cabling

•Working knowledge and understanding of Network Infrastructure, DNS, switches, routers & firewalls

•Proficient in MS Office a must, and a working knowledge of AutoDesk AutoCAD software

•Excellent Troubleshooting skills

•Excellent verbal and documentation skills

•Flexibility with regard to schedule; ability to work a rotating shift schedule including after hours and weekends as required
