Booz Allen Hamilton Optometrist in Bethesda, Maryland
Provide technical and analytical support across multiple educational, research, clinical, and policy-driven efforts to optimize clinical care outcomes for service members and veterans with ocular injury and disease. Promote the prevention of eye injuries and enhance readiness and ocular trauma preparedness across the DoD, VA, and civilian communities. Support the identification of and advocacy for best practices and evidence-based clinical recommendations to improve the full scope of eye and vision care to service members and veterans. Support the collaboration and integration of DoD and VA medical services and programs for clinical care and research to enhance the quality of life across the visual continuum of care. Engage in collaborative scholarly research efforts.
-Experience as an Optometrist (OD) in combat, deployment-related trauma care, or a humanitarian mission
-Experience with clinical or basic research, including a track record of peer-reviewed research publications
-Knowledge of the military health system (MHS) or veterans’ health and military medical practice
-Knowledge of clinical practice, patient diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and preventative medicine
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-OD degree in Optometry
-Experience in working with other military health organizations
-Experience with developing health policy
-Experience with bio-statistical analysis
