Delta Air Lines, Inc. Omnichannel PMO Project Leader in Atlanta, Georgia

The omnichannel PMO Project Leader will initiate and develop strategic projects within Global Distribution & Digital Strategy and across the broader Delta organization. This position will be responsible for the development and ongoing ownership of the omnichannel Technology Roadmap, by which new projects are prioritized and vetted with the Global Distribution & Digital Strategy leadership team and impacting both direct and 3rd party channel performance. Additionally, this role includes responsibility for evaluating new technologies and vendors for strategic and operational fit as well as business case creation, partnership development, and implementation planning. This is accomplished through close partnership with other Global Distribution & Digital Strategy team members, including the eCommerce, Merchandising, Distribution and Res teams, as well as other cross-divisional organizations like Loyalty, Marketing, ACS, Sales, and Product Development. This role will also be responsible for building and sustaining relationships with other Delta business unit leaders and ensuring effective horizontal integration. Oversees ongoing projects/programs and performs project management activities. Responsible for the departmental capital planning process. Responsibilities include: forecasting, managing, tracking, and reporting project progress; scoping changes to achieve successful, on-time and within budget project completion; managing and coordinating communications across multiple business units and partners (internal and external). Primary Functions:

Estimates the ROI for future strategic initiatives during executive discussions, and tracks corporate ROI, goals, and program status

Works independently and with cross-divisional teams to develop initial plans to clearly define large, complex project requirements and determine an appropriate solution design.

Communicates the requirements, solution design, estimates, and identified risks to project sponsors for their awareness and approval.

Decides the prioritization of interdependencies from other departments, division, and suppliers and resources to meet the project plan

Creates departmental capital plan

Strategically assigns corporate resources and talent that aligns with the length and difficulty of the program

Presents clearly and succinctly to Delta executives and other industry leaders

Leads presentations in a variety of settings and styles to Delta leaders, executives & industry executives

Works closely with Digital and Omnichannel analytics and reporting teams to track project impact on performance, ensures adherence to established IT project methodologies and standards.

Provide regular status reports to stakeholders, sponsors, the enterprise, and others involved in the project.

Escalate and resolve problems as necessary to ensure awareness and assistance with resolution.

Visualizes opportunities for synergy and integration between processes (IT, Change Mgt., etc.) and projects

Corporate team members consisting of cross divisional and divisional Sr. Project Managers, IT partners, leaders and executives

Builds business cases to appropriately influence the "go/no go" decision around the project risks

Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

Bachelor's degree required plus a minimum of 5 years experience as a Project Manager in Operations, IT, or corporate functions, or an MBA with a minimum of 3 years experience as a Project Manager in operations, IT, or corporate functions. Extensive project management experience required, involving complex, cross-divisional project management. 3+ years of airline experience (IT or technical project manager in business unit) strongly preferred.
