Our Case Manager facilitates clinically appropriate and fiscally responsible patient care through communication with the treating physician and all other members of the healthcare team, in close cooperation with the Utilization Review/Discharge Planning Coordinators and hospital management.

Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s

degree in Nursing with three (3) years clinical experience preferred

Required Minimum Experience: Three

years related experience in case management, utilization management, and/or

discharge planning is preferred.

Required Minimum Certification: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia with

active status; BLS required

Required Minimum Skills: Knowledge

of professional nursing theory and practice acquired through graduation from an

accredited school of nursing.

Knowledge of data-driven decision-making.

Working knowledge of various

reimbursement mechanisms, insurance carriers and third party requirements.

Working knowledge of InterQual

criteria.

Possession of critical thinking skills

and the ability to analyze and present data.

Ability to establish and maintain

effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians and fellow

employees, especially Infection Control and Pharmacy.

Ability to effectively manage patient

cases consistent with evidence-based medicine, medical necessity standards, and

reimbursement parameters.

Demonstrated ability to operate a

personal computer.

Demonstrated ability

and willingness to learn will be considered; Computer proficient; Ability to

demonstrate critical thinking skills
