Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility is to ensure applications are in compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policies. Assists in determining levels of financial aid eligibility; Meets with students and parents for verification of information submitted; reviews applications and supporting documentation for participation in financial aid programs. Evaluates student academic records to determine continuing eligibility for financial aid programs and deferments. Utilizes student funds management system for entering, auditing and accessing data. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting and two (2) years of direct experience.

Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check.

  • Three years experience working with financial aid programs in a community college. Supervisory experience.

  • Requires effective and courteous communication skills with diverse populations and the ability to exercise considerable judgment, tact, and initiative in responding to requests for information and assistance from students, staff, governmental agencies, and the general public.

  • Ability to perform data entry and retrieval; ability to perform at a high level of accuracy and detail.

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a diverse employee/client population.

  • To ensure compliance with federal and college requirements, some mandatory training must be completed for this position.

Work Schedule:

Forty (40) hours per week. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work schedule may vary to meet the needs of the college. This position is currently based at Main Campus, however; changes in location may be requested depending on the needs of the college.
